Mariem is a volunteer teacher at a small school in the mountains near Marrakech, Morocco. Run by a local association, the project provides education for 30 women and 70 children. Many of the students walk for about an hour each way to get to school. The school itself is in poor condition: there is no electricity, only a few chairs, and no school supplies, books, or learning materials.

Mariem teaches children and organises literacy classes for women. She contacted Support-Flow in Morocco to ask for our help in making the long journey to school more motivating for the children and to provide better learning conditions.

Mariem said the following about the situation: 'The people here live in very simple conditions — most families depend on raising cows and sheep and doing small local jobs. The classroom is still unfinished, with only cement walls and no electricity yet. For now, we have nothing, so we will start by using chairs that the association already owns and that people in the douar usually borrow for weddings, as well as chairs that women will bring from their homes."

We are funding 3000 CHF to improve the school's situation. All donated money will be used for:

-Small construction and repairs (walls, windows, flooring, paint, curtains, carpets and basic materials).

- More furniture (tables and chairs).

- Electricity and heaters

- teaching and learning materials (books, notebooks, pens, crayons, slates, etc.).

- school bags and educational games.

Let's make this beautiful initiative happen and support the education of children and women in the Moroccan mountains.
